Checklist for a paintball field visit

Paintball is an adrenaline-pumping experience, but being unprepared can make your first visit less enjoyable. Whether you're heading to NR Adventure Park or any paintball field, this checklist of what to bring to play paintball will ensure you're ready for action.

Before You Arrive to the Paintball Field

1.  Sign Your Safety Waiver

Most fields, including NR Adventure Park, require a waiver before you can play. Save time at check-in by signing it online in advance.

2. Review the Field’s Safety Rules

Every field has specific safety rules, such as:

·      Always wear your mask in designated areas

·      Keep your barrel cover on when not playing

·      Follow the field’s shooting distance and engagement rules

Familiarizing yourself with these rules ensures a smooth experience and keeps everyone safe.

Essential Gear and Items to Bring

3. Proper Clothing for Paintball

Wear comfortable, breathable, and protective clothing, such as:

·      Long-sleeve shirt and pants (hoodies or athletic wear work great)

·      Sturdy shoes or cleats with ankle support (avoid sandals or open-toe shoes)

·      Gloves to protect your hands from close-range shots (available for sale at pro shop)

4. Water and Snacks

Paintball can be physically demanding. Stay hydrated and bring snacks for energy between games. Some fields sell drinks and food, but having your own ensures you stay fueled. NR Adventure Park has drinks and snacks available for purchase in our pro shop.

5. Extra Layers or a Change of Clothes

If you're playing in cooler weather, layering up will help keep you comfortable. After playing, a fresh set of clothes (and a towel) is useful if you get muddy or sweaty.

6. Cash or Card for Paintballs and Rentals

Even if you have your own gear, you’ll need to purchase paintballs at the field. Some places are cash-only, so check in advance. NR Adventure Park accepts cash or card at our location as well as offering the ability to reserve your equipment and paintballs online prior to your visit.

7. Bug Spray and Sunscreen

Outdoor paintball fields often have wooded areas. Protect yourself from bugs and sunburn with a quick application before playing.

8. Optional but Helpful Extras

·      Microfiber cloth – Helps clean your mask if it fogs up

·      Headwrap or beanie – Adds extra protection from hits to the head

·       Cooling Towel – Keeps you cool during hot days by retaining moisture and reducing heat exhaustion.
